The urban planning competition took place in three phases, which were always concluded by a joint workshop of the competitors, the expert jury and its invited experts.
The goal was a new center of the city district, which would provide all the needs of its residents and at the same time offer space for everyday life and recreation and would be logically connected to the existing development.
For the successful transformation of the place, it is necessary to correctly combine seemingly contradictory goals: to restore the landscape axis and create an intensive city center. The combination of both elements brings a unique quality to the place. The lively square of the interchange and the quiet green courtyard of the town hall.
The design blends the development with the natural character, which enters the area through the Měcholupský stream, whose piped bed is revealed in the design, and the stream thus creates a green spine for the entire area.
In this way, a new development with the Prague 15 town hall is created in the area of the existing tram loop, bus stops and train station, which will become the new center of the city district.
And what will we find in the new center?
- Prague 15 Town Hall with the town hall courtyard
- New square with connection to the entrance to the train station
- Courtyard with community square
- Park under the dam
- West park accessible by an underpass under the road
